What are the different statuses for badges and badge applications?

Reports in Open Badge Factory (OBF) display different statuses depending on whether they relate to a badge that has already been issued or to your badge applications.

Badge status

A badge can have one of the following three statuses:

• Accepted → the badge has been accepted via email or in Open Badge Passport. In practice, the recipient has performed one of the following actions: opened the badge page (via the acceptance link received by email), shared their badge on social media, downloaded their badge as a PDF or PNG, or accepted the badge from their Open Badge Passport (OBP) account.
• Not received → the badge has not yet been accepted (note: this does not mean the badge was not sent by Open Badge Factory, simply that the recipient has not yet accepted or downloaded it).
• Revoked → the badge has been revoked by an OBF account administrator. It is therefore no longer valid.

With the report generator

Available at the Pro service level, the report generator may display the following:

• In the "Badges" tab → "Unknown", which actually corresponds to the "Not received" status.
• In the "Shared Badges" tab, the number of acceptances of badges shared with your partners: a value of 0 means that no recipient has yet accepted the badge, while a non-zero value indicates the number of times it has been accepted.

A badge application can have the following statuses:

• Pending → not yet processed.
• Approved → validated by the issuer, the badge is issued.
• Rejected → not validated (Report generator, Pro level only)
